Glaciers and Black Holes

taken from popsci.com

As much as I like reading about the latest antics of LiLo and Britney Spears and watching their sad pathetic lives unravel, I have decided that it is probably better to post an article about someone that is doing something extremely important with their life in order to make the world a better place, or at least understand it.

Konrad Steffen is an arctic climatologist that has been building and upkeeping weather stations on the Greenland ice cap for the past 18 YEARS. His findings, though extremely depressing, have helped us understand, in detail, glacial melting as a direct result of global warming. I suggest you find out more by reading an article HERE. I love me some Popular Science.

Also, Stephen Hawking's mind-blowing "A Brief History of Time" and "The Universe in a Nutshell" are now...wait for it...available with pictures in a 2-in-1 illustrated hardcover! An illustrated Stephen Hawking book. Too awesome. Those of you that might have been too intimidated before to read it have no more excuses. It has cool diagrams and photos and illustrations and is available at Costco for $12.99. So before you purchase another US Weekly, put the money to some good use. Yes, those crazy rehab ridden celebrities are entertaining and make you feel better about yourself, but seriously, what is cooler than a black hole? And I am not talking about LiLo's vag.
