Keep on Dancing
The Rapture pointed a finger at wallflowers across the world when they sang, "People don't dance no more / They just stand there like this / They cross their arms and stare you down and drink and moan and piss." After listening to 23-year-old Calvin Harris, however, even the most jaded of partygoers will want to bust a move on the dancefloor. Originally from Dumfries, Scotland, Harris has taken on the task of reviving disco with his debut album, I Created Disco. The album -- created in his bedroom on "a battered Amiga computer" -- will be released Sept. 4 on Almost Gold Records. Currently touring with a full band in the U.K. and, with his CD slated for release in the U.S., Harris might be bringing his infectious brand of disco-electro-pop to a party near you. Until then, you can settle for a party on your computer:
