Crimes Against Humanity/Television

Photobucket

In the Criminal Justice System the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups, but these groups are neither equally attractive nor badass. I think we all can agree that the police on Law & Order have always been cooler than the DAs. Back in the day a young rookie cop's dashing good looks blended perfectly with Jerry Orbach's no-nonsense attitude and sassy one liners. Nine years ago, the newest hot young detective to join sassy-pants Briscoe was none other than Ed Green. Fresh off of the Broadway stage, Jesse L. Martin brought his own dose of street cred and sex appeal to the crime-filled streets of New York. Sadly, after these nine magical years as detective Ed Green, Martin will be leaving Law & Order. As if Detective Collins (that's what my Rent-obsessed friends call him) leaving weren't bad enough, Martin will be replaced by Anthony Anderson (WTF?). That's right Anthony Anderson from Kangaroo Jack and every other ridiculous movie where he plays the loud fat guy. It's just that I'm very protective of my TV shows and when a new detective comes to the 27th Precinct he'd better have a better background than the Scary Movie franchise and K-Ville (Listen Anthony, if you can't hack it in New Orleans you're not gonna make it in New York). I won't stop watching the show, but I'll definitely be bitter and have a whole lot of skepticism waiting for Anthony Anderson. This is a bold move on NBCs part. Leaving the show's sex appeal in the hands of Jeremy Sisto (who no matter how many dramatic roles he takes on, I will always see as Elton from Clueless) and leggy assistant DA #17 doesn't leave much to fall back on. -Sara
