This American Live
Will charmingly nasal voices and black-rimmed glasses be better in surround-sound and letterbox? We'll all have the chance to find out. Chicago ex-pat Ira Glass and his League of Extrordinary Storytellers are taking This American Life to the big screen – “live”!
On May 1st, Ira & Co. will unveil some new TV bits (from their upcoming 2nd year on HBO), perform a radio piece, “and more” in New York. Here’s the kicker -- the show will be sent live, via satellite, to theaters across the country, so you’ll be able to see/hear the show simultaneously with all your bookish chums.
Oh man, I can hear Missed Connections being composed already.
