Blue Line Shuts Down: Hundreds Delayed, Dunkin' Doughnuts Makes a Killing

Do you hear that sound? Those three loud beeps and then the words “Attention Riders”? That is the sound of you being inevitably late for work. Like I was today when the blue line decided to break down during morning rush hour.

Thank God no one was hurt… a relief, after the last major blue line subway disaster in 2006 when dozens were hospitalized for smoke inhalation.

I hope all y’all blue liners decided to take it easy this ‘morn; an El breakdown is one of the few solid excuses for being late to work, class, and most other important events except for weddings and stuff. So cram yourself on the bus with a nice cup of coffee, enjoy the weather and be happy your train commute isn’t into Mumbai. -Brian Howe Battle
