Cool Video: David Ford's "Go to Hell"
We just got the link to this new video for UK rising artist David Ford, who plays Metro May 13, opening for Augustana and Wild Sweet Orange. The video, for single "Go to Hell" off Ford's new album Songs for the Road, is really clever and overall a great concept. Not that recording yourself singing or playing an instrument to then play it back while you perform is anything new (KT Tunstall and Howie Day both do it live) but the video sees Ford in a Brooklyn apartment recording sounds and music from various objects and instruments (shaker, guitar, piano, drums, conga -- even a fork and knife) -- doing it all live and in one take. The musicality of the song is solid and he has some powerful vocals (although the lyrics are a little weak). He's apparently making some noise back home across the pond. Will he replicate that over here? Check out the video:
