It's not easy being Green.
Last night was one of the saddest nights in a long time for me, as I watched Detective Ed Green leave Law & Order. Call me obsessed with television, but I haven’t been this upset about Law & Order since Jerry Orbach died. Ever since sassy Lenny Briscoe left the show, L&O has gone downhill—but the one smooth, funny and incredibly attractive thing holding the show together was Jesse L. Martin. Now that Martin is gone, you may be thinking one of two things: “There goes the show’s sex appeal,” or “ I wonder what equally attractive and tough actor will replace Martin?” And when you hear the answer to the latter is Anthony Anderson (you may recall my rant several months ago about a dismal performance in Kangaroo Jack), then you’ll be thinking the former. I will give Anderson props for playing semi hard-ass IAB Detective Kevin Bernard and I will admit that Bernard and Lupo were OK together (notice I didn’t say great), but I still think it’s unfair to take a hot black actor off the air and not replace him with someone equally suave and attractive to watch once a week. Side note: It’s also really unfair to make someone wear such unfortunate looking hats on their last episode. The only thing that makes me feel a little better is that Jesse will be filming a Marvin Gaye biopic—at least he’ll sing to me in that. (Shh, let me dream.) –Sara

But Sara, how did he go? The previews made it look like he got in trouble!
Awww, I really liked Jesse. At least he can pursue his secret identity full-time: an NBA All-Star.
