Evidence doesn't lie.
After enduring what I'd like to call a trip to hell and back this past weekend; whether it was volunteering to push someone's lifeless car after being "treated!", being a good friend by sitting in a puddle of sweat in a 150 degree theater-slash-death chamber as a somewhat funny man entertained us, or trying to still look hipster in the fetal position while in the back of an Audi TT as the tire blew out on South Lake Shore Drive; I somehow managed to survive it all and make it down to the Museum of Science and Industry to catch the last week of the CSI: The Experience exhibit. I wish I could say this was the highlight of my weekend, but the past seven days have entirely neutralized themselves into nothing but irony and mediocrity. Here's a recap anyways.
The exhibit starts with a briefing from Gil Grissom himself! OMG. I've never listened so intensely in my life. After the briefing we make our way to our crime scene. Being a CSI-superfreak, I knew that I needed to examine every minute detail to solve the case. From the way the body was positioned, the size of the tire tracks and even the shade of lipstick on the victim. Why? Because no victim can ever say we didn't try.
After the crime scene, we examine all the evidence in the crime labs. I was most impressed by the autopsy room. The coroner gave us the break down of the victim's time of death and how she died. Fancy projections onto the mannequin did all the talking. At that point, all the evidence was coming together. What seemed to be the initial cause of death was actually a misconception. The evidence never lies. We reported to back to Grissom with our report.
Hot damn! We got all the answers right! I'm now classified as a rookie Crime Scene Investigator. Now I can go home and tell my mother that she doesn't have to worry about me being an "artist" and I can move to Las Vegas to investigate who left a cigarette butt in the Bellagio's buffet meat which ultimately killed 200 tourists' appetites.
Catch CSI: The Experience exhibit yourself before it closes September 3rd.
