Random, but really cool.
Half my family is from New Mexico, and every year Albuquerque hosts an international hot-air balloon festival in early October. This year's main attraction is a balloon in the shape of Darth Vader's helmet -- according to my grandma, it was accompanied by a gaggle of people in Stormtrooper costumes. They had to max out entries to 700 balloons -- there were more than 1,000 applicants from people around the world -- and some of the photos in the gallery are pretty stunning. - Kim

That is freakin' awesome.
When I first saw that dog with the hat, I thought it was Smokey the Bear, since Smokey is from NM, and I thought it was really cute. Then I figured Smokey wouldn't fight fires with a studded collar.
