Yes summer's just around the corner (if we say it enough, maybe the ugly gray snow in the alley will start melting and the weather will get warmer) because Pitchfork just announced the first batch of bands to play their festival this July 18-20. More will be announced so stay tuned...

Actually, I'm less wowed this year than I have been. (Is that because Lolla is increasingly stealing bands they would book? Jim DeRo would prolly guess so.)
Plus, the ticket price has jumped up again. (Is the cost increase because Intonation is not competing anymore?)
Also, if it's a hint of things to come (which it is) legit hip-hop acts don't fare well as headliners at Union Park. Clipse and Lupe didn't go over so well in years past, and I distinctly remember De La Soul saying in an affected Cracker accent "Put yer hands up. Put yer hand up like yer at a Hip Hop concert."
