Trib Wins Sun Times' Wrigley Video Contest

In the on-going battle of old Chicago media giants, the Tribune just one-upped the Sun Times, nabbing a $1,000 online video contest prize, set up by ST, whose goal was to pretty much make fun of Tribune & Cubs owner Sam Zell.

Apparently, Trib editorial board intern Katie Hamilton nabbed the prize by doing a spoof of Quiet Riot’s “We Ain’t Gonna Take It”. Hamilton re-recorded the tune with a full band, and did a fun-lovin’ little video – including a clip of her “about to get kicked out” of the Tribune Tower… apparently Katie’s internship has yet to cover bothersome journalistic principles like Full Disclosure.

Video complete with smug prelude:

Uhhh...UHHHHHHH. Classic WTF moment!!

Golly - the Trib sure threw a helluva lot more than $1k worth of resources at that contest.

Smug is one word for it. Others: unnecessary, foolish, wasteful, bad-sport. Cripes. How do I get an internship at the Trib??

They apparently get to just pull integrity-free pranks for a living - I want in!!
