Gretsch turns 125



The Gretsch company is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year in style. The world-renowned guitar and drum manufacturer, that has received endorsements from artists such as George Harrison, Bo Diddley, Charlie Watts and Phil Collins, will be releasing new lines of limited edition instruments as well as starting a worldwide online search for the best unsigned bands. The entry period for the "Next Gretsch Greats Unsigned Artist Competition" will be from May 1 to May 31. The grand prize winner will get the opportunity to perform live at the company's anniversary concert in New York and will receive over $15,000 worth of Gretsch gear. The first runner up will receive over $5,000 worth of gear and the second runner up will get a $1,250 gift certificate.
