He Was Robbed!

Last night, America voted and sent home the wrong contestant from Idol. Australian Michael Johns (who now lives in the US with his American wife) was sent home -- during the "Idol Gives Back" charity shows no less. Last year, contestants were spared from the chopping block because it was an emotional event. This year, not only were the feel-goodies left aside, but Seacrest had the nerve to say that because last year was so emotional that no one would be sent home, but this year, "Michael, you're going home." It was a shocking moment. Johns was one of the strongest singers and my No. 1 pick from the start of Hollywood week. He has natural frontman charisma. He embodies Chris Martin, Michael Hutchence and others. His bluesy, soulful voice could fill an arena. But unfortunately he won't be in the final three on Idol. Who knows, maybe this is a blessing -- maybe he can now have a great career and avoid the Idol stigma and just be a cool singer. Let's hope. Michael, we'll miss ya. – Ari
